"An hour and a half north of Swakopmund is Cape Cross. It was here that the Portuguese explorers first landed. Its other claim to fame is as the home to tens of thousand of fur seals"

"Take warm clothes because the wind and fog can make the place seem bitterly cold compared to elsewhere in Namibia. The smell from the colony is also impressive and can stay stuck to your clothes for some time afterwards. I know some local people who no longer visit the colony, just because the smell is too much."
