Excerpt(s) from the book Namibian Wildlife - an alternative guide for the traveller on safari.

"You do have a good chance of seeing dolphins in Namibia (well Namibian waters). A family of bottle-nosed dolphins is resident in the waters between Walvis Bay and Swakopmund. They often swim right next to the shore (like 5 meters from the beach) to avoid the large ships further offshore. Tracking them down may be tricky, so to improve your chances take one of the dolphin and seal boat cruises from Walvis Bay or Long Beach. Otherwise watch the sea from the Strand at Swakopmund."
