"The other famous rumor
about the honey badger is that when he (or she) attacks, she will go for
the groin. A famous African ornithologist once reckoned a cricketing cup
and jock strap is what you should wear if working with honey badgers.
Stories are told of groin attacks on animals as large as buffalo with
the buffalo then bleeding to death. Given they are considerably shorter
than a buffalo it would seem inevitable to me that some form of groin
attack would be part of any fight. Curiously the honey badger,
proportionally speaking, has one of the largest brains of any carnivore
so maybe attacking the groin is part of some intelligent master plan
developed over the years. They also have exceptionally large testicles.
Given they regularly come under attack from bees and ants this would
seem to be a disadvantage but it might also explain their aggressive
nature." |
