Excerpt(s) from the book Namibian Wildlife - an alternative guide for the traveller on safari.

"Leopards can be extremely dangerous. They are respected by the Bushmen who tell you that the leopard waits in a tree to jump on you, then grabs you by the back of the neck and pulls your skin from there up over the top of your head,  all the way over until it covers your eyes."

"It is difficult to explain just how good at hiding a leopard can be. I have seen people who keep leopards unable to find them in a 75 by 25 meter cage. Just as they are about to give up the leopard is found watching everyone from under a bush about 5 meters directly in front. The basic moral here is that leopards watch people rather than people watch leopards."
