Excerpt(s) from the book Namibian Wildlife - an alternative guide for the traveller on safari.

"The males setup territories which are aggressively defended. The females and young form separate herds with a dominant female in charge. The dominant female decides where to take the herd while the local males try to keep the herd in their territory, especially when the females are in heat."

"Sable are the aristocrats of the game farming industry. At the time of writing it costs about 100,000 Namibian dollars to buy a sable and hunters pay around 80,000 to hunt one."
